Kips Bay Show House

Kips Bay Show House

Style : I'm headed to New York this weekend and will be fortunate enough to catch the last weekend of the Kips Bay Show House. Year after year I see fabulous photos of these show houses, decorated by a who's who list of designers. This year's show house is an Upper East Side four-story neo-Federalist mansion, once owned by John Hay "Jock" Whitney. I don't want to ruin the surprise of seeing it on person on Saturday, but I had to sneak a little peek....

All photos are by Trevor Tondro for the New York Times

A bedroom by Amanda Nisbet. I've seen this on a few blogs and love the fabric panel behind the headboard- brilliant.

A "ladies study" by Celerie Kemble. What a great vision this is- utilizing that gorgeous paneling that normally people take in a masculine direction.

A child's hideaway by Harry Heismann. This reminds me of the movie Big...all those surreal animals. that only child could dream up...but from a very sophisticated perspective.

A living room by Richard Mishaan. Look at those gorgeous mirrors. So interesting how he puts some unexpected artwork between them.

Can't wait to take some of my own pix of the show house...stay tuned!
