MoS Obsessions: Flamingos Done Right

MoS Obsessions: Flamingos Done Right

Style :

I go through phases with animal obsessions- first it was owls, then vintage poodles.  Now the latest is flamingos.  Sure, flamingos can be incredibly tacky, particularly the version that is made of hot pink plastic and found in yards.  Or they can be overly teeny-bopper-girlie, accenting a room with way too much pink-and-green (think feather boa lampshades).  But done right, flamingos can be so chic and elegant.  After all, they are a long-legged, hot pink tropical bird- how much better can it get?!

Here are a few rooms inspiring my recent flamingo obsession:

This pink and white flamingo batik cotton fabric is made in the Bahamas and would be so cute in a little girl's bedroom.

You can find fantastic flamingo watercolors on Etsy for a song.  We'd love this one matted in white with a gold frame.

A set of vintage animal drinking glasses- the flamingo is my favorite!

These vintage playing cards would make an adorable hostess gift!

Isn't this brass flamingo absolutely fabulous?

If you have money to spend, this Herend version is to die for!

For something a little funkier, isn't this bicycle chain flamingo unique and interesting?!

Are you on board with flamingos?
